Leadership Through Time:
- Watch video and take notes:MAKE A DECISION
- Many leaders have had to make extreme decisions during crisis. How do you think these decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations? Give an example. [1-2 Paragraphs]
- ** Consider the different decisions leaders have had to make regarding war, epidemics, impeachments and natural disasters. In an emergency, leaders may make one decisions; given more time to explore options, their decisions may differ. Does crisis improve or detract from the decisions leaders make? [3-5 sentences]
I think they wouldn't have anything rushing them and they would gain an understanding and have a clear mind.To have a good way of figuring out the situation. You could help them understand what they need to do to fix ti and make it a better matter. To make it into a solution and not having everyone freak out.Just buy making a tiny fix to it.
ReplyDeleteIt could improve but it could also detract.Anything you do could have effect bad or good ways.If good then it could effect it in a good way and better the situation. But if it is in a bad way then you can make the situation bigger and badder then before.Anyway possible it could make it bloom of make it die.
1. alot of leaders try so hard to take care of there kind and if they didnt like what they where doing then there would be so many bombs going off but they take the risk of doing it for there people , also they loved to do it for a living like there always the ones taking the bigger risk and taking time out of them to make a big decision to do whats right for there part of the city or country or maybe even the people that is contributing to the death of there sake . so leaders try there best to take good care of there kind and also put work in for the bad people that like to play games .
ReplyDelete2 . in war there are so many challenges that leaders have to do when it becomes to destroying there state whatever they had own like in war it gets so serious because some people like to kill and like thats when it gets down to the real part and like they take part of the challenges ahead of them and they are very ready for any big bombers , in nature they try to use bad things on animals and not humans i know that issnt good but i rather have it on them then you , so they put there work in and try to save there land and the people on it lifes not easy but the major leaders make it calm and healthy for our kind . also crisis does interact with the leaders because anything that is bad for what they think they have to get to work nd start making big and better dis ions in what they think will save there land and for the people .
1. (Notes)
ReplyDelete2. Many decisions from leaders would changed greatly in non-crisis situations. An example of a decision that may change based upon whether it is during a crisis or not would be the creation of the Nazi party in Germany. At the time the country suffered from high employment rates and a diminished economy. If the situation was that Germany was not in a state of poverty and also in a state where everyone had a job, then the Nazi party probably wouldn't gain as much support or be created. Meaning that the people who decided to create the party probably wouldn't have made that decision.
Another more modern day example would be the creation of the TSA policy. This was created after the event on September eleventh. If it where not for the current crisis that occurred at the time the bill may not have been presented. The reasoning behind this would be that congress would lack notable reason to pass the act as some may have thought at the time that without the security measures today air travel was still safe. Leaders would overlook the act as there would seemingly be no danger to flights.
3. Crisis may detract from decisions leaders may make. Leader's are like many people around us. They get scared. A crisis would cause panic among people and thus also the leader. The leader would then need to calm himself down and make a decision on what to do. In situation where the decision has to be made the second the crisis arises, the leader would predictably make a poorer because of the how sudden the situation is especially if they are directly endangered.
2) I think that if the leader didn't make the decision in the crisis time, but they did do it when they weren't having trouble then it probably would of not effected them as much. I think if the leader did it at the time when they were having trouble then they would of learned from their mistake or the decision they made. They probably will learn things about the decision they made too if they haven't gone through stuff but it would not affect them as much. For example, if someone had to make a decision of going to college and they actually went, they would experience how it is and might actually like it. If they had the chance but they didn't take and didn't went, maybe later on they would be regretting that decision and might want to go back but, probably don't have the chance to now.
ReplyDelete3) I think crisis improve in the way others make their decision. I think so because leaders will make their choices more wisely and careful. If they have to go to war, they will have to make a very big decision. They will either have to risk their life or don't go to war and make another decision.
1) On paper.
ReplyDelete2) I believe that decisions made during crisis might change if they were made in a non-crisis moment. Take Martin Luther King for example. He was a great leader who fought for equal rights. He protested that everyone should be treated the same no matter the color of their skin. He was a leader because he fought for what was right and people agreed with him. The result was that people started seeing his way of viewing things because they agreed that they didn't like the way they were being treated. Many people followed into his steps and were on the same side as him.
If all this injustice hadn't had happened, then people with colored skin wouldn't have created the stereotype that all white people are better then blacks. This is a stereotype that put lots of black people down because they came to believe this was true, even though it wasn't. If the whites had treated everyone equally since the beginning, then Martin Luther King wouldn't of made his move.
3) Crisis detract leaders from the decisions they need to make. Just like anyone else, if you are being pressured and have a limited time to think something out, your going to panic and things won't come out the best way possible. If a leader was in a moment of crisis, then everyone would be pressuring him or her to do something about what was going on. This would make things hard for the person that is trying to make a solution for a big problem because they will be distracted with thinking that other people are depending on him or her.
1)Done
ReplyDelete2)I think if leaders made decisions during non crisis situation then we probably would of not heard about them. An example of this is Anne Frank, what would've happened if she never moved out of here house. And the nazi were stopped by another country. We would have never heard of Anne if this happened. And if the nazis were stopped then we would never had a world war.
2)I also believe if leaders made decisions during non crisis situation then the leader probably didn't have to work as hard as they were suppose to. An example of this is Martin Luther King Jr we know him because he made lots of protest and speeches. But what if African Americans and Whites were equal there would be now need for him. And he would not be need so it was important that the civil rights movement happened. Finally I believe that leader are remember during crisis moments because everyone will remember what they did to help.
3)I believe that cris is good for the leader and bad for the leader at the same time. One benefit crisis has is that the leader has an opportunity to show why they are the leader. But the bad side of this is what if the leader can't control the situation, the leader wouldn't be a good leader to have any more. It all depends on how good of a leader he/she is will it help or not help. To conclude if you want to be in the history books then you have to do a good job during crisis or when their is no crisis.
1. They would have to make a tough decision and in the end feel bad about what they did. For example if you are between life and death and a mom needs to choose between a kid and a friend she will obviously choose the kid to save because yeah it will hurt her but it would hurt her more to loose her kid than a friend, as bad as that sounds. The friends family would probably be upset with her but if she couldn't save both lives well she cant do anything about it she had to choose one. It was a crisis and well she needed to do something unless she cares more about the friend then her own kid. Or she could have left them both to die.
ReplyDeleteIf she was just going to kill one of them and she wasn't between life and death then that would be a whole different story. She would choose one and after she killed whoever she did she would go to jail. That's the difference when you are in a life and death situation people don't get sent to jail for killing someone but when its not they go to jail. The situation changed for that leader and she was not trying to save both. She wouldn't be a leader in this case though she would be a criminal.
2. A decision distracts a leader from the decisions she/he makes in crisis. When they are working to get stuff out of the way to get to a person they are to distracted saving one they don't hear or they probably cant help both. They wanna make a difference and by that they they make hard decisions of who they will save and who they will help. Sometimes they cant help everyone and so there upset and sometimes even traumatized for there decisions.
1) Done
ReplyDelete2) I think what would happen is that they would have more faith in him. For example, if he is able to make it into a non crisis situation then they're going to believe in him more because he did this. And the decisions might have changed like maybe the decision might have been rushed because he was worrying about what will happen but if it was a non crisis situation i think it would have been a more relaxed answer or action.
3) I think it detracts what his decisions are like if he's in a rush he might be in a hurry to rush his choices. But if he had time to think about what will happen then his choice might lead to something better or a better outcome. So i think crisis makes decisions more sloppy and rushed.
2.In September 11,2001 the wold trace center fell down.In 1998 Bill have to make a big dissension to sent a missel to kill Osama bin Ladebclient and Kill 200 more people just to kill him. Bill had to make a big dissension to kill osama .He did not because Bill had to kill 200 more.
ReplyDeleteIn September 11,2001 the world trace center just got hit.It was Bill flute to let this happen foe the America people.
3.Yes.The leader have to make a dissension to do.It is important to want to do for the people.
1.)Well allot of leaders have to make decisions during crisis and hard ones. But one common crisis is family. For example in movies we sometimes see when a dad spends his time at job, and thinks that that is more important then his family. He tries to hide his sadness in his job because his wife died. And his kids need him and need to spend more time with him but he doesn't seem to notice. Now his kids have problems and he doesn't know hot to fix them.
ReplyDeleteA good decision he could of done would of been to spend more time with his family.Because they needed his attention.Another good decision would of been to work but not all days.If he would of took these decisions well his family wouldn't been that separated. And there would of been more connection.
2.)In some way the decisions that the leader takes may detract and improve because there might be something wrong about the decision or something good. For example there might be a a natural disaster and people are helping and he is one of those selfish people who decides to help himself and leave. And at the end the bad decision he makes is bad and he dies. This is a bad example of a detract decision.A good example of a decision of a leader would be a girl in the Olympics. She would be running and be the first one to almost finish and next to her there's another girl to and the girl falls. So the girl almost in first place decides to be a good sport and helps her and leave another girl to win the race. That is an example of a leader improving.
2. The decisions might have change if they have non-crisis situations because people can/might make the wrong decision, which may mess them up if they don't fix it. Some people might make better decisions. Decisions that can benefit them for good. For example, Someone can be in a stable position right now and they have to choose whether they want to go this way to do better, or that way and sometimes, either one can be either a positive way or negative way. I believe that if you make a decision, there's gonna be small, hard obstacles in them, which will lead you downhill.
ReplyDeleteIt really depends on which decision you make, whether it benefits or disadvantage you. Having a non-crisis problem with decision is most likely how you want yourself to look. it takes effort and drive to make a good decision, but it is hard whether to tell if it's good or not. I think it's kind of not easy to make decisions in non-crisis situations because you have to still choose. Non-crisis situations should be taken as serious as crisis because it still have the same affect as in the other. You have to choose which is the best decision.
3. I think that decision most likely distract you because you try to think whether it’s a good decision or bad. You are afraid to fail so it makes you nervous and doublethink them. They want to choose the right one but don’t officially know which one to choose. They get opinions from other people, which also throws them off with decision making. It is a major challenge for them. If they mess up, they have to make up a new one to fix that one and another to replace that one
1)It would be easier to make a decision if leaders can make the crisis to a non-crisis.Because then you wouldn't have to worry about anything. An example is when I had to choose to wok hard on soccer.I decided to work hard. Also like I decided to not listen or pay attention to my crisis.Because Myself I made them a non crises.
ReplyDelete2)Crisis can detract a leader because they can hesitate. They hesitate because they are making a decision which is going to affect the people around him or himself.I get worried when I make a decision also.Because determining on your decision its going to determine your future.
2) I think they might have changed for the better because then they could carefully plan what could happen. They could think for what will happen if they go with one idea instead of the other. They would be able to fix any and every problem that comes up. For example if our could have planned out what could have happened during the civil war then it would have ended a lot faster then it originally did. But if our leaders had to make decisions under pressure then they would be thinking of out comes to each thing they did but could not over think it other wise they might run out of time and might loose the battle or what ever the situation is at that moment.
ReplyDelete3)Sometimes it can improve their decision but other time it cane make their decisions have a bad turn out. For example it would make them have to rush so they could not think about every possible outcome. But it could also help because they would think about the everything faster and would help them see to that it happens right away.
2. well, if leader is in a situation he has his teammates ,classmates, or even soldiers like if someone hanging from a cliff and the leader has to decide whether to cut off his team mate or his girl.So than the leader has to make a decision and when its a crisis there's many pressure on him so its difficult for him. Also when the leader has to make a decision on like what he wants to eat that isn't a crisis he just has to make a simple decision. So, if a leader wanted to play on a soccer team he would have to make his own team.Than if one soccer player sucks at playing the sport i'm pretty sure he would want to kick him off also he's your cousin.Than you gonna have to make a decision on whether to keep him on the team or kick him off that's making the leader feel uncomfortable because so much pressure is on him.
ReplyDeleteNext, the leader is going to be in a minor situation on whether he wants to eat pizza or chicken. Also the leader doesn't have any pressure on him because 1 he can have whatever he desires he just has a choice basically. Than the leader can easily pick what he want's because he just wants food.
3. well first the crisis does detract his decisions because in war if he was fighting for our nation and there's 2 guys and he has to kill one that's a crisis because he has to kill someone. So than the leader cant help it hes under so much pressure and he doesn't know what to do at all.
Also, if a leader cant do anything at all about killing his or giving him away he doesn't wanna lose his best friend he would die from the inside if he loses his dog.Than if he is under so much pressure he wont think at all so than he cant do anything to save his dog because hes leaving at one point.
Last, a leader has to make many decisions they can be hard they can be easy but mostly hard because a leader either has a group or a team that he has to watch out for so the decisions can be whether cutting someone off or whether promote them.
1. I think that the decisions might have changed because. They could have made it like a peaceful way so everybody won't panic . If you are a leader you are gonna have to figure out how too take control of a crisis and a non-crisis situation. You will have too guide them thru out the whole crisis or non-crisis. The whole point of becoming a good leader is too take control of the situation.
ReplyDeleteOnly the best leaders won't crack under pressure . You have too make the best of what you got and hope it all turns out great. If you are the leader everybody counts on you too take care of the crisis or non-crisis . Also a good leader will care about all the people . He or she will try too help out anyway possible.
2. I think leaders should think long and hard about what to do in a crisis or non-crisis. It depends because if there are peoples life in danger they have too be really careful if not the people could get hurt or even worse. The leaders should be more careful on what they do and how they do it because it's all about helping people and making sure that their okay. To me i think being a leader is difficult because you are the one that is in charge and your responsible for what happens too everybody that is a hard working job.
1. Leader have made extreme decisions to get where they want to be. However if there weren't extreme decision most them we had never got to get where they want to be at. To get to were you want to be you have to make a decision. Because with that decision it can change you whole life. Even though is the wrong decision re do it but with the right decision. If leader didn't make this type of decision there would probably fail at to chive what they want for other and them self. Also they would be making the wrong decision and they would have to fix it to be the right decision. When it come to leader making decision they either make a extreme decision or a poor one. Although if they didn't have to make decision when it was a crisis it will be much easy. Because they would have not to make a extreme one they can make a OK one and it still me a great decision.
ReplyDelete2.Crisis improve because with out them it will be much easy. Without it being difficult and will probably give you a better chance of not failing. But without failing there is no chance of you knowing what fail is and a way you can improve it to be better. Also it give a great idea to other that only because you fail doesn't mean you can't get back up and keep trying. Then leader will know what to do when there is a crisis and will improve of it and show other that they can do the same. Lastly, people will think that because to make a decision on a crisis monument they won't be afraid cause they sen a leader done the same.

ReplyDelete2. If it's non-crisis, I think it might changed to make a decision for your target not an extreme decision. To show what you have to do. For example, you are in poverty and you decide to do something hard to be rich, to change your life that is making an extreme decision. Another way that if you want to buy an expensive watch you just have to think the way to make more money that called a decision. They both are making a decision but from the examples above you can compare how it's complete differently between poverty and want an expensive watch.
3. To consider the leader's decision in regarding war and an emergency that they are almost same. For the regarding war's decision you have to think and make a good decision for what you have to do and is it right or not during the time. And for the emergency, you also have to decide what you have to tell everybody to help and to do. The crisis is more improve to the leaders' decision.
1)Watched video and took notes.
ReplyDelete2)I think the decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non crisis situations by making a lot of small decisions. Also by making it not so challenging. When you don't think so hard on certain things its not challenging. You also have to not be so nervous. If your calm everything will go just fine.
I think if things wasn't difficult at times everyone would be a leader. Even though things get difficult people just choose not to be a leader. Some people like to be followers. Leaders stop and make the right decision because that's what a leader is supposed to do. That's how I think decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non crisis situations.
3)The decisions that leaders had to make are changing what they do wrong and make the right decision. They also do whatever it take to have a better life. They make a difference by making a decision. Crisis improve the decisions that leaders make. It improves their decisions because they don't think so hard on it they just let it happen. A leader don't worry their selves about little things. Leaders take risks all the times. That's how leaders improve their decisions when their is a crisis.

1.) Notes
2.) In a crisis, leaders have to quickly think and leader don't usually think about the after effect or it might seem like a good idea right then and there but the next day it might seem like a not good plan. Versus the leader with no crisis that can think upon the after effect. I believe sometimes a quick action might be better than a plan that has been worked on for a while.
3.) I think that crisis detracts good ideas from leaders because they have to think about war, epidemics, etc. Leaders might not make the greatest choice due to pressure about a lot of things and the whole plan about war might be spoiled or not good.
2. Many leaders have had to make extreme decisions during crisis. How do you think these decisions might have changed if leaders could make them in non-crisis situations? Give an example. [1-2 Paragraphs]
ReplyDeleteMany great leaders have to make a big decision on what they think is the best decision for everyone. All leaders have to think how will their team members will say and how to explain why he made that decision. There are so many acts that can make you pick the wrong decision. Having a team is a great thing because you can all pick a decision that everyone can agree on. Having many decisions can also bring fear. We are afraid to make a decision so we will not make a decision. If we want to change our life, the only way is by making a decision. Fear is all around us, but that does not stop us from getting to our dreams. Facing fear is the best way to be a great leader.
3. ** Consider the different decisions leaders have had to make regarding war, epidemics, impeachments and natural disasters. In an emergency, leaders may make one decisions; given more time to explore options, their decisions may differ. Does crisis improve or detract from the decisions leaders make? [3-5 sentences]
Some leaders make that decision on war like some troops go one way and the others go the other way. The troops know that they are going to die, but they are following the leader’s orders. It really hard to make a decision that can kill one troop or the other. Fear can come in at that time and take over the leader’s brain. Troops protect others and even give there lives for others because they made the decision to give there life to others. Making a decision is the hardest thing a person can ever do but it is the right thing to do.

ReplyDelete2. Many leaders worked very hard to make it where they wanna be in life or in sports. And I don't think theirs a easy way for leaders to be in a non-crisis situations because leaders work hard for the goal they want to achieve. And I think that some people made extreme decisions to get where they are in life.Because some decision make our decisions.
3. I think some leaders make some good decisions by like telling their teammates to not give up to keep pushing till we are done with a game or match. And some leaders don't leave nothing on the table they take anything. In my opinion the best leaders are the ones that know how to control their own decisions.

ReplyDelete2.I think those decisions might have changed the leaders non-crisis by making a difference and making a decision. They had to extreme the decisions because they had to show that you got to make something possible and say "I Will Do it".like in the video it is saying that even though people don'T like you, you still got to make a decision for yourself.Sacrifice your self if you fail you don't want to fail again your trying to succeed. There are also small decisions that we do not make for are self's.
3.To consider the leaders decision you have to make regarding the emergency and disasters the same.I think that the more time they give to explore the options the decisions will differ. The crisis will improve once's everything is controlled and already had a diffrence's which will make something possible.

1.Leaders in the past have had to make decisions. For example,if the president was informed that their was an earthquake that was going to happen in a week. The president could either tell everyone to prepare by having a lot of food or fleeing the area where the earthquake is coming. These decision can hurt someone by the president not telling no one and just one day an earthquake happens. .This decision can also help someone know their was an earthquake.
ReplyDeleteThis decision could make it into a non-crisis situation by just telling everybody that their is going to be an earthquake.
2.If their was any war, natural disasters, impeachments,an emergency ,epidemics,or emergency the leader would have to make a decision to tell everybody whats going on or he can just try to fix without telling anyone. If the president doesn't say anything its going to be non-crisis situations. If the leader tells people about it everyone is going to freak out and its going to be a big problem.
2. Well there are a plethora of leaders who had to make extreme decisions in a crisis. George S. Patton had to, and so did Douglas MacArthur. The subordinate leaders of the U.S. Marines on Iwo Jima had to make extreme decisions for the goal in mind of capturing the hill. During the Chosin reservoir campaign many had died on the American, British and UN side from the friction of battle, the most extreme decision was to retreat for the fear of even more casualties. These decisions would have changed if the winter was not as harsh, freezing Soldiers and Marines alike, solidifying the gas in the HMMWVs and MTVRs. In the case of Iwo Jima, the changes would be evident from the lack of suicidal Japanese soldiers. I believe that circumstances change from the settings of each battle or crisis.
ReplyDelete3. The situations actions will stagnate the command. The supreme leader will have to make one decision at a moment to halt the problem and make time for an improvised decision. I believe that the crisis both detracts from a decision, and improves it when the time is right.
I think they have to do to many thinks for be a leader the first think is that you have to do things really fast because if you get really slow thinking a lot of people are going to be doing all the things wrong because the leader never tell you
ReplyDeleteit could improve but it could also detract.is like when leader make some decisions that are really hard to recognize the problems that you make but you always can make the problems that you have and never talk about it.

2) Some decisions are main decisions. We decide not to do the right decisions even when we know right from wrong. Some reasons why you been holding back is because we want everyone to like us. Sometimes you just gotta choose what you want it to be it can be fear or failure. Never give up because if you already failed don't fail again you should want to change that. Just always make the right decisions. Not everyone is going to approve you so careful what you do.
ReplyDelete3) If you really want to succeed you would have to put all of u into it. Sometimes you have to control because quieting is not a option. most of the times you tell yourself you want to do it but you just don't know should you do it or nah.
